TIRUCHIRAPALLI AIRPORT TERMINALS

The airport has two adjacent terminals. When the modern integrated passenger terminal was built in 2009, it was converted into an international cargo terminal comprising the original passenger terminal, control tower and technology module, which is currently used for international and domestic aviation.

INTEGRATED PASSENGER TERMINAL

The active integrated passenger terminal built at cost of ₹80 crore was inaugurated on 21 February 2009 and started operations from 1 June 2009. Some of the features of the new terminal include:

  • 1. 12 check-in counters
  • 2. 4 Custom counters (1 departure + 3 arrival)
  • 3. 16 Immigration Counters (8 departure + 8 arrival)
  • 4. 3 Conveyor belts (47 m (154 ft) each)
  • 5. 1 Baggage assistance counter
  • 6. 1 Health officer counter
  • 7. 5 X-ray scanner for baggage (3 for registered baggage and 2 for hand baggage)
  • 8. 4 Security check units
  • 9. 210 CISF strength
  • 10. Total aircraft stands = 7
    • 3 for code D aircraft
    • 4 for code C aircraft
  • 11. 3 Aero Bridges
  • 12. Parking space for 300 vehicles
