The Trichy airport upgrade projects, which include erecting a new passenger terminal building, would be finished by June, according to a statement made on Thursday by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). By June 2023, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) Airport’s integrated passenger terminal project, funded by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), will cost Rs 951 crore (US$117 million). More than 85% of the building work has already been finished, said the airport authorities. 48 check-in counters and ten boarding bridges will be present in the 75,000m2 terminal. As a result, AAI anticipates that the energy-efficient structure would handle 2,900 passengers during peak hours.
