Passenger satisfaction survey : Airports Council International (ACI), an organisation of airport operators, has rated Trichy international airport as the best in the Asia Pacific region in 2022 to provide passenger satisfaction in the category of under two million passengers. Trichy airport director P Subramani said at a press meet that the rating came in ACI’s ‘Airport Service Quality’ (ASQ) survey, an internationally established global benchmarking of passenger satisfaction in an airport. By June 2023, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) Airport’s integrated passenger terminal project, funded by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), will cost Rs 951 crore (US$117 million). More than 85% of the building work has already been finished, said the airport authorities. 48 check-in counters and ten boarding bridges will be present in the 75,000m2 terminal.
